Floating Rail for Conservatory Windows

A “floating rail” (also sometimes referred to as a “floating stack”) allows for customers to have  top down bottom up blinds in their home.  Essentially, this means you can have blinds that ‘float’ in the middle of the window; with the tension of the cords ensuring that the blind doesn’t move or fall.

Maximum Shading with Top Down Bottom Up Binds

With this freedom, you can choose whether to operate your blinds from the top down or from the bottom up. This gives you the maximum amount of control over where you have your shading. You can precisely position the blind to block out just the area where the sun is entering the room; while keeping the rest of the glass uncovered so you can enjoy the view.

The Floating Rail System – For Top Down Bottom Up Blinds

We can use a floating rail system with our pure™ range of pleated blinds, with both our own Solar Design™ single-layer fabric and the Duette® honeycomb style fabric, in a way which combines the flexibility of the floating real with the neat fit and design of our pure™ blinds.

The floating rail can only operate manually for rectangular side blinds. But the rails are often used in either normal windows or for a set of folding doors. Additionally, you could install these onto sliding doors as they don’t interfere with the mechanism.

The Tru Fit drill-free system is also designed to have a floating rail. While it has a different design than our pure™ Conservatory Blinds, and has the limitations of being a DIY system that’s not designed for conservatories; they can be a good alternate option if you’re looking for blinds with a floating rail in a set of folding doors or windows.

If you think you’d need an extra level of control over your window shading; speak to a member of our sales team and they can go through the different options with you to find a perfect solution for your home.
