Roof blinds for your conservatory is where we truly excel. Complex shapes, awkward angles, heat resistance, UV protection – our bespoke roof blinds can transform your room like no other blinds can.
The majority of heat leaves a conservatory or orangery through the roof, making your conservatory roof blinds an essential element of the room. To ensure you get the maximum effect you need blinds that have been especially designed for your own conservatory space. Plainly put, not just any blind will both do the job and stand the test of time.

Our roof blinds are truly like no other. Each component is designed from the ground up in our local factory; we’re no strangers to awkward spaces, unusual angles and tricky spots.
Our blinds excel in complementing that awkward shaped glazing that seems impossible to fit to. We have designed our Pure™ conservatory roof blinds to be able to fit into a wide variety of shapes. Awkward angles, obtuse shapes and asymmetrical roofs: our experts can find a solution that will result in a neat fit.
However you wish to operate your blinds, we have an easy-to-use solution. Our conservatory roof blinds can be operated manually or with our exclusive remote control system, giving you total control over your blinds.
All of our products are built to last. Our roof blinds are a breeze to adjust and maintain, keeping them looking and moving like new for years. With manually operated roof blinds, you can even completely unclip the blinds for proper cleaning.
Our made-to-measure conservatory ceiling blinds can be expertly fitted next to the glass to make sure there are minimal gaps to let the sunlight through.

In a lot of cases, other companies will use standard window blinds in a conservatory roof. As these are mainly suited for simple square and rectangular shapes they are not a great fit for a lot of the more complex shapes in a conservatory roof.
Our blinds are designed for roofs, so they can be made into tricky triangular shapes to naturally fit the glazing in your roof.
If you only get direct sunlight and heat from a certain part of your conservatory, then you can commission blinds that only cover those areas. Sometimes this means only having blinds in certain parts of the roof. To note: In cases where this has occurred, many customers have come back to complete the room for total shading and a more unified look and feel.
Yes! Thanks to our 25+ years of experience making bespoke blinds, we can create blinds that fit unusually shaped glazing. Other companies will often have to cover non-standard shapes with multiple blinds. In most situations, we can cover obtuse shapes with a single blind.
Tinted roofs are available with different colours to filter different parts of the sun’s spectrum, but are often aimed at reducing the heat that enters the conservatory.
That being the case, you need to ensure that your roof blinds won’t cause excessive heat build up between the fabric and the roof glazing by being too thick, impermeable or solar reflective. The main conservatory roof manufacturers also stipulate that you should have an individual blind layout with a 15mm air gap.
Without specific knowledge of any glazing, roof construction or ventilation, we would normally only recommend our own Pure™ blinds with Solar Design™, Duette® or Pinoleum fabrics, because they have been specifically designed for UK conservatories and have highly suitable Solar Reflective Fabrics.
The answer depends on what colour rails you have selected, the colour of your fabric and the colour of your conservatory.
In general terms; we normally recommend grey silicone impregnated stainless steel micro-cables for darker coloured fabrics and brown coloured conservatories, with white micro-cables for pale coloured fabrics in light-coloured conservatories. Black micro-cables are also available but are rarely used, except on black fabrics.
We always discuss this with you at survey and confirm the colour selected.
We have just had two battery operated Duette® pleated lantern roof blinds installed and from quote to completion we received excellent service. We would highly recommend this company.
Very neat careful work, executed when arranged, and everything left clean and tidy. The blinds were for a large conservatory ceiling with triangular window panes.
They were most carefully measured, and everyone blind fits well and operates smoothly.
What a transformation! We had new roof blinds and window blinds fitted last week, as well as some bedroom blinds. I cannot praise this company enough. Right from the unpushy salesman Aaron, through to the amazing Ryan, who measured and fitted these blinds to perfection.
Our safety during COVID was also paramount and we were completely comfortable with them in our home. It is a large roof and could never have imagined how good it would actually look. All in all, outstanding service and outstanding quality. I would highly recommend this company.
Thank you Ryan, you are a star!
We have a glass-roofed side extension to our kitchen which made the room unbearably hot in sunny weather. The blinds that Conservatory Blinds [now Specialist Blinds] installed have made a huge difference, making the room comfortable all year round.
The salesman that came was knowledgeable and businesslike. He did not employ double-glazing-style selling techniques which some other blinds companies went for. We were not strong-armed or made to feel that we had to sign right then. The young man who installed the blinds was punctual, friendly, quick and polite.
All in all it was a pleasant experience.
Every appointment was on time and excellently presented. The price for conservatory roof blinds was good. The installation went well and I am pleased with the result.
Our experience of Specialist Blinds has been excellent from start to finish.
We liked the look of the product and the company from their website and the sales and fitting by Howard and James respectively were friendly, professional and methodical. This was underpinned by clear communication from the factory and a smooth sales process. We are delighted with the look and operation of the blinds which fit beautifully into the conservatory roof structure.
Highly recommend!
Very good service both from the sales rep and the fitter. Excellent choice of blind fabrics. I’m very pleased with the blinds – they’ve done a very good job of keeping the sun out while not having too much of an effect on light levels in the house which i was worried about.
They look great and they are easy to open and close. Very happy. My only gripe was the relatively long lead time between ordering (May) and fitting (July), probably because it was a busy time of year.
