Occasionally our customers have conservatory blinds fitted that are very old and in a state of disrepair. It’s easy to see the differences between their original blinds and our specialist blinds. Quite often the older blinds are not suitable for conservatories, they are usually generic window blinds.
A good example of replacing conservatory roof blinds is with our recent customer in Dorset. The customer had old pleated roof blinds that they wanted to replace. Once we had replaced the customer’s old pleated blinds with our own pure™ Pleated Blinds the difference between them was night and day:
The Challenge
Despite the fact that the old blinds were in bad condition, there were numerous problems with the original installation.
Main challenge faced: the conservatory had a number of small ornamentations on its frame as part of its design. This made it hard for the blinds to properly cover the glass. The original blind installation tackled this problem by fitting blinds on spacers. This let the blind rail sit away from the frame of the conservatory to avoid the ornamentations. As you can see from the ‘before’ photo, this was far from an ideal solution. This is because, it created large and unsightly gaps at the bottom of the blind.
Replacing The Conservatory Roof Blinds
Our neater solution: the top of the ornamentation was filed down so that our blind could neatly fit on top of it. Specialist Blinds’ uniquely designed pure™ rails meant there was a minimal amount of disruption to the frame of the conservatory. Details like these are discussed with the customer during survey. We will always recommend several options and let the customer decide which one they are happy with.
Another area where our attention to detail really pays off is the central boss at the top of the roof. This can be a tricky part of a conservatory to cover, as there is various narrow shapes involved. However, our blinds have been specially designed to tailor these types of areas:
This is thanks to the experience of our installation team, the expertise of our factory team. As this means we can neatly fit blinds into areas such as a roof boss with minimal gaps. As the photos clearly show.
An added benefit of our blinds is that they are much easier to maintain than standard blinds. They can be easily unclipped to remove any trapped debris before they can stain the fabric, and they can even be directly cleaned with water. We also provide guides and videos on how to keep our blinds in good working condition to all our customers using our MyBlinds customer area. That way, it will be much easier for the customers to ensure the blinds do not get into the same condition as their old ones did.
