PINOLEUM BLINDS FOR HIGH CEILING WINDOWS

A couple in Warwickshire built a conservatory around their existing traditional barn with curved wooden beams that are over 400 years old, rising to very high ceiling windows that required blinds.

This project was particularly interesting for us to manufacture and install as the customer required our expert advice to not only shade the room, but also maintain its distinctive qualities. For this reason, we recommended our custom-made English Pinoleum blinds for most of the windows to match the traditional look and feel of the room.

Traditional Pinoleum & Duette® Blinds

We don’t have “one blind for all” like other blind companies: our blinds have unique operating and control systems to suit the exact application required for each customer.

All of our blinds are designed, manufactured and assembled at our own UK factory in Ashford, Kent with unique powder coating facilities for matching any colour conservatory or frame colour, as well as a custom spray booth for finishing your English Pinoleum blinds in any Farrow & Ball® colour.

We even have developed our own engineered wood rails and brackets for a truly traditional look, with no exposed brackets, which are even suitable for Grade II listed properties.

The roof blinds benefit from our innovative remote-control system, allowing easy operation of all 28 roof blinds with just the touch of a button. We have control systems that can work via remote control, mobile devices and even with voice control via Amazon Alexa®; essential when you have high ceiling windows.

Because the large roof timbers are curved, we created matching coloured packers so we could fit the blinds against the glazing with no gaps. In addition, due to the extraordinarily high ceilings we worked from a scaffold tower, so all-in-all this was an extremely complex and detailed project that could simply not have been possible elsewhere.

High Ceiling Window Blinds

Any room with vast amounts of glazing like this can experience problems with temperature control and unwanted glare throughout the year. For this reason, we recommended our bespoke solar lining for the Pinoleum roof blinds.

Our optional solar lining is a brilliant solution for those wanting to make their room into a comfortable space. It is very effective at helping to control temperatures by keeping the heat out in the warmer months, while also retaining heat in the colder months. It is the ultimate combination of traditional woven wood with ultra-modern solar reflective fabrics.

This bespoke timber conservatory also features a large triangular gable window which the customer did not want to hide, so we recommended our unique pureaspect™ electric blinds with Duette® fabric in Bone to coordinate with the colour of the roof blinds.

Only pureaspect™ gable blinds can provide a fully retractable remote-control gable blind for nearly any shaped glass. Other blind companies will leave this window uncovered or provide a fixed solution which is far from ideal and quite the opposite of what this customer specifically requested.

These stunning blinds are a brilliant solution for timber-framed conservatories and orangeries as they help to create a timeless classical style.
