ELECTRIC DUETTE® GABLE BLINDS

This lovely bungalow in Richmond, Surrey was newly refurbished to an incredibly high standard by its young owners, including the installation of new full height gable glazing to the rear of the home, which is more than 3.75m tall (over 12’).

Because these stunning windows are the focal point of the whole property, the owners knew that it was absolutely imperative to find the perfect solution for their needs and not compromise on appearance or operation. After intensive searching and research, the owners concluded that our unique pureaspect™ gable blinds were the only real solution available.

Along with the striking contemporary look came the problems that are often associated with large gables, namely loss of privacy, increased glare and exceptional large amounts of heat loss during evenings and the colder months, as well as extreme solar heat gain on sunny days. All of this is compounded by the fact that the shape of the glass prevents nearly anything from being fully retracted.

In other words, most owners of fully glazed gables are faced with the very real prospect of having to permanently cover the shaped area of their glass because they cannot find a solution that meets all of their shading and insulation needs, but which can completely retract.

Our unique pureaspect™ blinds are exclusively designed and manufactured by us at our bespoke production facility in Kent precisely for this very reason and when used with 32mm Duette® Pewter fabric, these stunning blinds provide all of the light control and heat insulation required.

Notice just how amazingly neat our gable blinds are when they are retracted… it’s almost as it there are no blinds there. There are certainly no visible cords, wires or cleats that you would get with other blinds.

Triangular Shaped Duette Blinds

These are very large blinds – far bigger than you would normally be able to buy as Duette® blinds. Normally, with glazing this size and shape your only option would be to order vertical blinds with a sloping head (which would have a large visible stack of louvres when closed and which offer no appreciable insulation against heat loss). The only other option would be to consider pleated fabrics, but extremely big blinds like these would sag and stretch over time, as well as being too heavy.

Thankfully we are specialists in gable blinds and manufacture the largest Duette® blinds in the UK with specialist cording that provides smooth reliable operation.

It takes a specifically designed operating system, coupled with decades of experience in design, manufacture and installation to achieve the level of fit and finish achieved here – especially given the shape size and fabric, as well as the fact that we have to guarantee them for up to 5 years.

To help ensure that the blinds sit straight and square, despite the angled tops, we have developed a compact heavy-duty rail that is powder coated to match the other hardware, which also houses the super quiet motors that operate the blinds. The movement is so smooth and hushed that you will wonder how they are moving!

Alexa Smart Blinds

And when it comes to operating the blinds, you have the choice of using a remote-control handset, or we can even connect to a home automation system, allowing your blinds to be controlled via your smartphone, tablet, or even voice controlled using Amazon Alexa®.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the owners of this attractive modern gabled home for allowing us to film part of our TV advert there. They were very accommodating and we are extremely grateful to them for this.
