Experts in Rounded Window Blinds
Rounded windows are rare in comparison to your more common rectangular or square-shaped windows. But rounded windows can provide a certain architectural flair to any building or room in a home, their unique shape, although eye-catching, can be hard to install blinds on. If you are looking to reduce glare, protect your furnishings from UV and retain privacy, you may have to look for an expert in rounded window blinds. At Specialist Blinds we have over 25 years of experience in crafting and installing conservatory roof blinds, so odd-shaped window blinds are our speciality.
What We Use To Fit Rounded Window Blinds
We fit most arched window blinds as we would to any rectangular window, but only if the curve is limited to the top portion of the glazing (like in the photo below). For the lower rectangular portions, any house blinds such as Roller, Duette® or Venetian blinds will work. However, the top circular window part is where it becomes more complex and your options may be limited, especially if you would like them to fit the shape.
Although our pure™ blinds were designed specifically for conservatories, they also work well as shaped blinds in rounded windows. Thanks to our bespoke manufacturing techniques, we can make these as narrow blinds which ensure we cover as much of the window as possible. With the window below, we were able to cover the idea with just a single blind, using the same techniques we’d use for a shaped roof blind.
We also have options for those aiming for a more modern look to their rounded window. We often use Duette® fabric to create triangular gable blinds using our pureaspect™ system, which are effective when used for circular window blinds and help improve the insulation of the room. In some cases where the odd-shaped window is above a set of folding doors, we can offer a blind that covers the gable before lowering over the rectangular shaped glazing below.
Other Expert Options for Rounded Window Blinds
If you don’t mind covering the semi-circle, you can opt for a free-hanging blind. This is where we fit free-hanging blinds above the windows rather than recess-fitted against the glazing. An example of that is our bespoke roller blinds that can come in solar reflective fabric and with an optional cassette to conceal the rollers. Roller blinds offer an elegant solution to window shading if you have wide areas of glass.
These are good option for those that don’t want to control many blinds, however this can be easily solved with our user-friendly blind motorisation options. So, if you have a unique or curved window, treat yourself to a luxurious well-crafted solution from Specialist Blinds. Get a free quotation appointment now.
