The spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) is having an obvious affect on business across the entire world. Companies are now having to change a lot of their standard procedures to deal with this. As a large amount of our work involves face-to-face meetings with customers, this is especially true of us.
At this time, we are operating our business as usual. We have made changes to ensure that we can keep up our high level of service during this period, while still ensuring the safety of our employees and customers. This includes rearranging the staff in our Head Office and Factory; where we ensure that all our staff are spaced a safe distance away from each other. We have also made changes to how our sales and installation teams operate when they visit customer homes.
To help those who cannot have anyone visiting their homes unnecessarily we are launching our new Remote Consultation option. This is available for those with a smart device that allows video calling.
This allows a member of our sales team to go through the options available to you and give you a quotation; all via video call. This way, you can get all the expert advice you would normally get in a full quotation without having to have anyone visit your home. We will also ask you to take photos and measurements of where the blinds will be fitted. If you would like to have a remote consultation, please mention it when you make an enquiry with us. We will then send you full details of how the calls will work.
For those that still want a full sales visit, that is of course still an option. Our sales team are all taking special precautions to ensure that contact is kept to a minimum. This includes ensuring to keep their distance and avoid any direct contact, while still being able to demonstrate our blinds and give expert advice. But please don’t be offended if they refuse an offer of a cup of tea!
Survey & Installation
In order to ensure the highest quality blinds, we will still need to send over a member of the installation team for both survey and installation. We have instructed all our installers to stay at home if they have any cold or flu symptoms. This ensures that your installer will only visit your property if they are fit and well.
On arrival and on completion, the installer will ask if they can wash their hands. During survey and installation, the installer will keep a safe distance (at least 2m) and require everyone to be completely clear of each work area on a room by room basis if it all possible.
On completion the installer will wipe down the surfaces before demonstrating the blinds at a safe distance. In some cases they can even talk through glass to ensure the maximum social distancing possible.
We will be honouring any surveys or installations that have already been booked. If you are unable to have anyone visit you in your home due to self-isolation, then we will do our best to accommodate this and rebook your appointment to an appropriate date. Your fitter will go through the details of this with you as and when needed.
The next few weeks and months will be a challenging time for everyone. With a large amount of people now working from home, many people are considering home improvements. It’s important to create a better working/learning environment that is free from glare and heat, making blinds extremely beneficial at this time. We will be making updates and improvements to these procedures as time goes on; both to make it as comfortable as possible for our customers and to comply with any new government regulations that get released.
