Perfect Fit blinds are a popular DIY choice for house windows, but do they work in all situations? “Perfect Fit” does not actually refer to the type of blind, but to the frame surrounding it. The Perfect Fit frame can be push-fitted between the glass and neoprene gaskets of UPVC windows without the need for drilling or screwing. However the frame is rather bulky, which limited the situations they can be used in. They do not offer a solution for glazing that has aluminium or timber framing, and we do not recommend Perfect Fit blinds for sliding doors, folding doors, roofs or awkward shaped glazing.

Sliding and Folding Doors

Perfect Fit Blinds are not the best window covering for sliding and folding doors due to their bulky framework.  This is because their bulky frame interferes with the operation of the doors; making the doors unusable.

A better solution for sliding and folding doors is a blind that uses our unique pure™ rail. We can fit a blind into the recess of each individual door panel with two thin rails; one at the top and one at the bottom. Consequently, the doors can still fold back completely without the blinds effecting the operation of the door. If you are still looking for a drill-free solution, then the Tru-Fit blind system still offers this in a way that does not interfere with the operation of the doors.

Conservatory Roofs

Similarly, Perfect Fit blinds are not a great solution for conservatory roofs, as they tend to consist of several different awkward shaped windows. Otherwise they will cause large unsightly gaps when they are used in other shapes.

A popular choice for conservatory blinds is our pure™ pleated and Duette® blinds. They have both been specifically designed to tackle awkward shaped glazing. We can cover almost any windows no matter how big or small.
