Blinds at Cannizaro House on Wimbledon Common
Posted: 23 Mar 2013Tasked with designing the right orangery blinds for a flagship Cannizaro House Wimbledon hotel frequented by the wealthiest and most demanding clientele is no mean task; especially when it means working on a fast track building site and the glazed walls require blinds are over 4m wide and 4m tall (some 13’). Our Special Projects Team came up with a unique solution for the client’s requirements with a specially designed and manufactured blind system just for this installation. The remote control window blinds incorporate quiet motors and operate together, or individually as required, and are the world’s largest Duette blinds®. Even the expressly commissioned Duette® fabric was cut specially by Hunter Douglas for this key project. This reflects just how important it is, and the international interest that it has created. The roof blinds offer the perfect balance of reducing glare, whilst also helping to maintain a stable temperature all year round (against the cold and the heat). Whereas the window blinds are a particular feature of the finished décor, creating privacy and warmth. However, when all the windows and doors are open, the blinds are still able to retract away neatly. This creates the perfect al-fresco dining experience. It was exceptionally hard work and required accelerated manufacture to fit in with the tight schedule. As well as night working to help meet the Client’s strict deadlines. Judge the end result for yourself by visiting the stunning orangery with our blinds at Cannizaro House on Wimbledon Common. But we’ll leave the last word to the Client himself…
“Wow! They are just amazing guys. Thanks so much”
