Lantern roofs are a popular addition to many UK modern homes. They easily add natural light to a room without the need of a full conservatory. But as with any area of glazing, more sunlight can mean more problems.A recent customer from North Yorkshire had this exact problem after the construction of their garden room. They were starting to find a lot of glare was coming through the lantern roof; which made it extremely difficult to use the room comfortably. After speaking with a local member of our sales team, they decided to use our Duette® Lantern Roof Blinds. Because of the size of the lantern roof, we were able to cover it all with just a single blind.
Once the blind was installed, they were so happy with how it transformed their room that they left a review on our Checkatrade page:
“Context: the 4m x 5m garden room was completed just over 12 months ago and is my living space in our bungalow. However, the roof lantern has caused problem with intense direct sunlight given the south facing aspect of the room.
The electric blind perfectly matches the decor; the quality is superb; the frame and mounting are discrete and the operation of the blind both simple and smooth.
It is the perfect final touch and my living space now feels finished.”
As well as the glowing review, they also gave us 10/10 ratings for Reliability, Courtesy, Tidiness and Workmanship.
Our range of Lantern Roof Blinds have the same level of quality and attention to detail that make our conservatory blinds so unique. We offer the frame and components in a range of power-coated colours; so that the blind always fits in with the frame of the roof. We design our components to create an integrated look, so the frame does not cover too much of the lantern roof.
As well as reducing glare, the lantern roof blinds help make the room more comfortable throughout the year. The Duette® fabric helps insulate the room, keeping it cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
This customer opted for battery-powered operation, with the optional solar charging system. This allows for the battery to charge itself during the day, so that you don’t have to manually charge it. This is an ideal option for lantern roofs, where the battery pack is high up and hard to reach.
If you have a lantern roof that’s letting in too much glare, arrange a free quotation with a member of our sales team. They will go through the various options with you so you can add the finishing touch to your room.
