There are hundreds of different fabric suppliers, but very few that are capable of providing fabrics that really last in the rigours of a conservatory.

Our high quality fabrics will give you the best balance of high solar reflectivity and normal light transmittance so that you are not blacking out your conservatory (or adjoining rooms).

We do not recommend cheap solar reflective fabrics as they come with defects from new and stand a very high likelihood of "delaminating" (the solar reflective coating/layer will come away) with extensive UV.

High quality fabrics are woven from branded yarn, smoothed and then have a self-coloured (virtually clear) coating applied so that the fabric appears the same colour from outside the conservatory - rather than whitish-grey or shiny silver.

Our conservatory blinds are designed to be easily removed and refitted so that you can clean them.

Whilst some other pleated blinds may have "washable fabrics" you will not be able to remove them without a great deal of trouble and a substantial tool kit.

Not only can our blinds be easily removed, they are designed so that the tension can be adjusted making it easier to refit them and then adjust them.

With our Solar Design pleated blinds, you can wash the whole blind with no need to disassemble it at all - your blinds really can look literally like new for many years.

It is this type of attention to detail that makes all the difference after you have bought your blinds.

Our conservatory blinds ranges have been developed to allow easy operation.

Firstly we do not make oversized blinds to cut costs, like some companies do. Bigger blinds are harder to operate and adjust to exactly the right position. Over time they can also sag under their own weight.

Our manual roof blinds are controlled by a telescopic rod with an easy "click-on head" that holds itself on until you release it.

The handles that are fitted to the blinds are also adjustable so that you can set the correct pitch making them much easier to grip and operate.

This sort of detail adds a great deal of convenience and peace of mind for just a few extra pounds per conservatory.

At Conservatory Blinds Limited we take our environmental responsibilities seriously.

Our conservatory blinds fabrics are free of PVC and halogens. Our wood blinds are sourced from managed forests using sustainable timber resources.

In addition to having an energy saving policy for our offices and factory, we recycle all our waste aluminium, steel, paper and cardboard - including the packaging from all blinds. We even provide local schools and playgroups with our fabric off-cuts.

All of our vehicles have the lowest possible CO2 emissions for diesel engines in their class and are regularly serviced and well maintained. They are also fitted with Satellite Navigation so that we minimise our mileage and avoid traffic delays.

Finally, don't forget that our very products themselves provide an enormous saving on energy use by providing a more stable temperature thus reducing the need for excessive air conditioning and heating within a conservatory.

Shaped pleated roof blinds can "sag" on their shaped edge and the fabric can "fan" badly when the blind is retracted because it catches slightly on the supporting micro-cables (even when they are silicone-impregnated).

Fabric Control Cording is the technology which allows shaped pleated blinds to fill the shape that they occupy without sagging over time and stop the fabric "fanning" up after the blind has been operated.

Control cording is designed in to each shaped blind and varies with fabric, blind size and exact proportion.

Unlike most other systems, we can even incorporate this into the smallest shaped blinds - very common in conservatories.

Our conservatory blinds have been designed to provide the neatest fit.

Based on our many years experience we have developed a survey method and software program which allows us to create blinds of all shapes and sizes with the greatest accuracy.

Our ultrasonic fabric cutting and laser measuring ensures accuracy and neatness that is only available from the very top conservatory blind specialists.

Coupled with purpose-designed fabrics, our small "fanlight" window blinds have the thinnest possible stack (thickness when the blind is retracted) so if you have leaded lights, or decorative patterns at the tops of your windows, they will not be partly obscured like they could be with other blinds.

We even have concealed clip systems for a truly "built-in" appearance.

Colourfastness refers to a fabric's ability to not fade when exposed to UV.

One of the most important things you could imagine with conservatory blinds, is the need to know that your fabrics will not fade or rot and the "hardware" of the blinds will not go yellow and become brittle from prolonged exposure to UV.

Our purpose-designed conservatory blinds systems are all made from genuine UV stabilised components and the highest quality fabrics.

Despite what you may be told and whatever guarantee is being offered - VERY few blind systems are specifically designed for use in a conservatory.

Our pleated and roman conservatory blinds fabrics come with a rating from the "blue wool" scale so that you can be sure of their resistance to UV.

Conservatories have changed in design, construction and relative quality over the years, and so we have had to adapt and develop our systems and blinds as well.

Modern PVC-u conservatories are comparatively difficult to fit blinds to (in a professional manner) so we have different systems that we recommend for different conservatory manufacturers, styles, shapes and constructions - all so that we can provide the neatest and most suitable blinds without risk of damage to your conservatory.

Not only that, but based on our many years experience we have developed a survey method and software program which allows us to create blinds of all shapes and sizes which can fit exactly.

Conservatories with decorative corner mouldings, designs with external corners (such as P shaped conservatories) and open-plan conservatories offer even greater complexity when selecting the most suitable conservatory blinds.

Up until we developed our own roman blind system, there were no purpose designed roman blinds for conservatories.

As UK conservatories are designed, constructed and used very differently compared to mainland Europe (where virtually all high quality blind systems originate) there has never been any real technical innovation, other than to adapt pleated blind systems.

We have designed an operating system, solar reflective roman fabrics and wood weaves that provide a quality fit and superb finish for our conservatory blinds like no other.
