Remote Control Patio Awning

Remote Control Patio Awning

Markilux Remote Control Patio Awning in Light Ivory to match the stucco stonework of this beatiful home in Virginia Water, Surrey.

In additio to this remote control awning with vibration sensor, to retract the awning when it is windy, we manufactured custom-designed brackets to stand the awning in front of the rainwater pipes.

A small manual awning was also fitted to another area of the property in May 2011.

Big patio awnings

Big patio awnings

Big patio awnings require a great deal of experience to install correctly. This is a 10m wide (33') joined unit remote control patio awning.

Patio awnings over 7.0m wide are formed from 2 awnings being joined and therefore have a minimum of 4 arms.

This means that joined patio awnings have limited projections available between 7.0m and 8.0m wide otherwise the arms would be too long and would not be able to fold back into the cassette.

Patio awnings with lights

Patio awnings with lights

The Markilux 1550 patio awning has low voltage lights in the front profile. These adjustable remote control operated lights can be angled to provide lighting towards the house or downwards from the awning to create a pool of light that extends well into the garden.

The awning arms are tensioned by external gas pistons which act as dampers to control oscillation due to wind which also makes the arms look very neat.

Patio awning valance

Patio awning valance

A patio awning provides shade whilst retaining your view of the garden. The valance can provide additional shade even though it may only be 100-250mm (4" - 10") in drop.

There are 4 different valance shapes available for patio awnings; straight (as image), scalloped, undulating and dentil.

Our patio awning valances have a cross-stitched braided edge to prevent build up of dirt and mould on the leading edges.
