New High Performance Fabrics
Following on from yesterday’s news article launching Lumina Sheer fabrics, today we are introducing an established pleated dim-out fabric from Louvolite that offers high performance – Madrid SPC.
We don’t specifically recommend dim-out fabrics for conservatories with solar glass due to the potential for excessive heat build-up between the fabric and the glass, but they can be suitable with traditional double glazing where there is sufficient eaves/ridge ventilation.
The manufacturers (Louvolite) state high performance figures for Madrid SPC, with an average of just 15% heat transmission = a total of 85% reflection/absorption.
Just like other Louvolite fabrics, Madrid SPC has a stiffer construction than our Solar Design fabrics, so it hangs differently and is less suited to very small shaped blinds, because of it's propensity to re-pleat (where the pleats in small blinds can overcome gravity and open-up because the fabric is so stiff). If heat build-up behind the fabric is not an issue, then a doubled-up blind layout is a viable solution to overcome the need for very small blinds.
Madrid SPC was only previously available on our Classic Pleated Blinds, but has now been integrated as an option for pure™ pleated blinds, with much narrower tops and fabric control cording for shaped roof blinds, as well as the smallest cording holes available on any pleated window blinds in the UK.
If you would like to see fabric samples of Madrid SPC in your own conservatory, contact us for a free quotation.
Tomorrow we will be launching the final range of new pleated blinds fabrics...
