Small Steps to Safety for Child Safety Week 2012

18 June 2012

Today sees the start of Child Safety Week, a week set up by the Child Accident Prevention Trust to raise awareness of the accidents that seriously injure or kill children, and how to prevent them.

The theme of this year's Child Safety Week is "Small Steps to Safety". The Child Safety Week website explains the reasoning behind this:

 Our key messages are:

  • The steps to safety are small but by taking these steps families can make a big difference to children’s safety
  • By building small steps into your everyday routine, safety habits will become second nature and not forgotten

While child safety week applies to all manner of situations, it is also relevant to conservatory blinds. The frequent stories of children who have sady died after becoming tangled in blind cords are a constant reminder that the safety of conservatory blinds is a major priority.

It's why we work with the BBSA's "Make it Safe" campain to to ensure that all our corded blinds are supplied with a variatity of safety devices, and that our salesmen will always inform you of the possible risks of corded blinds and suggest other suitable methods of operation.
