Honesty is Always the Best Policy
Yesterday we received a kind email from a customer, thanking us for pointing out that his bank had inadvertently paid us twice and for refunding the money immediately.
Every now and again we receive incorrect payments for the balance owed. Sometimes it is only a few pounds, but sometimes a lot more. In this case the duplicate payment was many thousands of pounds, but we always refund any overpayment immediately – however big or small.
The customer was kind enough to send us an email* thanking us for our honesty:
At the outset could we thank you for immediately informing us that our bank had made two payments to you for our conservatory blinds by BACS transfer. Secondly and many thanks we did receive the overpayment back yesterday afternoon. It is so refreshing when Companies behave with such responsibility and show such a high ethical approach.
Your fitter Lee was excellent and the blinds look exactly as we thought they would. Clearly we have not had the opportunity to fully utilise this addition to our conservatory. We will let you know how pleased we are once this can be evaluated.
