New Server

We have just completed a very complex and time consuming move of our web sites to a new private server. Despite employing a specialist migration company, the process was quite painful and extremely frustrating.

Nevertheless, our web sites are now safe and secure on our own server and we are seeing no more problems, so we hope you enjoy improved speed and reliability.

The problem is that our web site is so extensive in its use of database software that it requires a much higher standard of hosting than most other types of sites – in fact it is far more complex than most online shopping sites.

During the migration from the old host to the new server we actually lost a lot of our work as well, so we also now need to recreate a significant portion of the new web site.

Unfortunately, because it has taken so long to move to the new server, we are unable to launch our new site until next week – after the bank holiday. Of course we could have launched it on Thursday but, as it is a Bank Holiday Weekend, if anything had gone wrong it would have been 4 days before we could have rectified it.

That being the case we look forward to our return from work on Tuesday 10th April so that we can finally launch our long awaited (actually highly overdue) new web site.
