Conservatory Blinds Accuracy to EN 13120

22 February 2012

Just a reminder that we manufacture our conservatory blinds to extreme levels of accuracy in accordance with the European Standards set out by EN 13120.

EN 13120 (2009) sets many performance standards for blinds of all types, but 12.4.3 establishes the maximum tolerances for accuracy.

The finished dimensions of an internal blind, compared to the dimensions ordered can be compared to establish the level of tolerance.

These tolerances are measured at a temperature of 23 degrees Celsius (+/- 5 degrees).

Width
Blinds up to 2m wide = maximum tolerance of +/- 2mm
Blinds up to 4m wide = maximum tolerance of +/- 4mm
Blinds over 4m wide = maximum tolerance of +/- 6mm

Height
Blinds up to 2m drop = maximum tolerance of +/- 5mm
Blinds over 2m drop = maximum tolerance of +/- 8mm

In the case of venetian blinds, the height is determined with the slats in the closed position.

Tolerances in height greater than the above are allowed for internal roller blinds and pleated blinds because they can be made with additional tolerance.

In the case of vertical blinds, the louvres should overlap by at least 5mm at any given point when they are tilted into the closed position.
