Service Call Charges Review
In order to keep providing the very best quality of service and value for money, we are reviewing our service call charges for conservatory blinds where the work is not covered under guarantee to better reflect the time and travelling involved. Most service calls arise due to minor issues from damage, movement within the conservatory (when it is new) and because the blinds have not been used, or have been over-used. Very few service calls are actually guarantee-related, which means that we have to make a charge. Whilst we are as helpful as possible with these situations, it is not cost-effective to incur significant travel costs and lose time on such visits which could have easily been resolved over the telephone most of the time. Obviously our guarantee remains unaffected and, without doubt, is the most honest and honourable guarantee within the industry. Unlike other retailers, our 5 year guarantee includes labour and parts: One very well known company claims to offer a 5 year guarantee, but if you read carefully you will see that this is only for parts – you pay for the labour costs after the first year because all of their fitters are self-employed. Another retailer claims to offer a 5 year guarantee but they have a clause which states that if they cannot do so then they will refund the cost of the repair or value of the blind. A third well-known name has such appalling blinds that their 12 month guarantee is meaningless, with many customers finding that they takes months, or sometimes years to resolve any problems. Obviously it is difficult for customers to know how a company will react to any problems, should they arise, but common sense dictates that the cheaper the company, the more likely you are to need service calls and the less likely you are to receive any meaningful service.
