Is there such a thing as a 'standard conservatory'?

Conservatory Blinds are a lot more complex than most people realise, and one of the main reasons for this is that conservatories are also a lot more complex than most people realise.

A lot of people tend to think that if they don't have a large and complex conservatory then what they have is "standard", which often means that they think there are standard blinds to go with it. Although there are a general set of shapes a conservatory can come in, every conservatory is still unique.

The exact shapes and sizes of the glazing in a conservatory depend on several factors, such as the company that's building it, and how the conservatory is attached to the house. Even if someone has a conservatory that's a relatively simple shape, such as a Victorian or Edwardian conservatory, there are still plenty of elements that make each one unique.

The Edwardian conservatory in this image, for example, may look like a "standard" conservatory at first glance. When you look closer, you can see that it still has several elements that might not be found in other conservatories of the same shape, such as the narrow windows either side of the doors (which, as you can see in the image, are not even the same size as each other!).

Because every conservatory is different, all the blinds we make are unique as well. The only way someone can get an accurate quotation for their blinds is by having a member of our sales team visit and measure up themselves; it's impossible to give an accurate price just by knowing the shape and size of a conservatory (this is why our price guides only give rough price ranges).

When it comes to making the blinds, a member of our installation team will do a detailed survey - which covers any usual areas specific to that conservatory - to make sure our factory make blinds that fit like they are a natural part of the room.

This is why even if you don't have a large and complex shaped conservatory it's still worth using true conservatory blinds experts; to make sure that you get blinds that are made specifically for that room, and have the neatest possible fit.
