Replacing DIY Conservatory Blinds

Replacing DIY Conservatory Blinds

A lot of the time it's hard to get across the differences between the blinds we make and sell, and the blinds that can be bought over the internet. At first glance, they can all just look like normal blinds to the average person, but it's only when you compare the two that you see the real differences.

We recently fitted blinds into a conservatory in Berkshire that showed this very thing. The customer had previously bought DIY conservatory blinds over the internet, and over the years they had become unusable; the guide wires were breaking and the blinds were constantly sliding down as the top rails failed to hold the blinds in position.

We replaced the blinds with Duette® Pleated Blinds, which we were able to neatly fit into the roof and sides of the conservatory. Unlike the DIY blinds, these new blinds have been specifically designed to be used in a conservatory, and were measured, made and fitted by true experts with years of experience. The end result is blinds that have a much neater fit than the old blinds, with fewer gaps around the edges to let in heat and light. The Duette® fabric will also make a big difference to the temperature in the conservatory, making it a much more comfortable room than the old pleated fabrics would have done.

When we fitted the new blinds, we paid special attention to the holes that were left behind by the DIY blinds. Where possible we tried to fit our blinds over the holes, and in the instances where we could not do this we used small plastic fillers to cover the holes.

Alongside the immediate differences between the blinds, our blinds have all been designed to be used in a conservatory for an extended period of time. With good care and maintenance, our blinds can stay in excellent working order for over 10 years. In fact we've had customers come back to us who are still happily using their blinds even years after they have been fitted.
