How do I look after my blinds?

Our recommended fabrics have a fungicidal treatment to inhibit growth of bacteria and mould but you need to keep your blinds clean because bacteria grows on the accumulated dirt rather than the fabric itself.

If you leave it too long then the fabric could become irreversibly stained. Beware - not all fabrics have fungicidal, anti-static and anti-oxidant treatments. You should NEVER:

  • Clean your conservatory with any chemicals that may drip or condense on the blinds
  • Handle the fabric with dirty hands as you could contaminate the fabric unintentionally
  • Let dirt accumulate on the fabric as this could become a breeding ground for bacteria
  • Use any chemical cleaner on the blinds as it will react with the fabric
  • Spot-clean your blinds, as this will create an obvious “area” that will never be disguised
  • Use any abrasive cleaner or surface to remove any marks as it will damage the fabric
  • Wash motorised (remote control) blinds due to the electrical components in the baserail

For more information refer to your Care & Maintenance Booklet (provided at installation), or you can log into our Customer Area to find videos showing the correct way to unclip and clean your blinds.
