What's the difference between washable blinds and easy care?

Conservatories can quickly become quite dirty, especially if open-plan to the house, because the windows/doors are often open, there is a high degree of static and the air movement ensures that airborne dust and insects can find their way into every nook and cranny.

For this reason we often recommend washable pure™ Pleated Blinds.

Washable blinds should be easily removed and refitted without having to dismantle the blinds, which is a major advantage of the Solar Design range compared to others (which often require an experienced fitter to do this for you).

Genuinely washable fabrics are not common – most pleated blinds cannot (or should not) be washed. Rubbing a small mark creates an area that will always be obvious and with some fabrics this can cause it to “bobble” and fray. Many cheap pleated fabrics will risk having the pleats fall out as they are not profiled to regain their shape after they have been allowed to flatten.

We only recommend fabrics that have anti-static and anti-oxidant treatments, as well as permanent profiled pleats to ensure that they can survive the rigours of a conservatory. Our purpose-designed conservatory blind ranges have a 5 year guarantee (parts and labour).

Even when coated in nicotine pure™ Pleated blinds can be easily washed and will literally look like new.
